Zambia’s President breaks ground for construction 600 million worth fertilizer plant

President Hakainde Hichilema officiated at the ground breaking Ceremony for the construction of 600 million dollars urea Fertilizer and ammonium plant by United Capital Fertilizer (UCF) a project facilitated by the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA). The project is expected to create over 300 jobs.
Mr. Hichilema commended UCF on the initiative and committed Government support for business for the company because of the anticipated benefit to the country. He reiterated His clarion call to ‘Invest Zambia, Make Zambia, Buy Zambia’.
Commerce Minister Chipoka Mulenga reiterated that the plant greatly contributed to Government’s vision to grow the national economy, while practicing positive discrimination for local job employment.
Agricultural Minister Reuben Mtolo called the event a momentous occasion that will put an end to Zambia importing fertiliser which will greatly enhance the national food security.
Delivering the vote of thanks wonderful Group Deputy CEO Roy Mwamba was quick to acknowledge the ZDA facilitation in their investment journey.
ZDA senior management team, led by the Director General Albert Halwampa, also witnessed the ground breaking event.
