Julien Paluku inaugurates a factory for HDPE and PVC pipes with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year- DRC

The Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya, accompanied by the Vice-Governor of the province of Haut-Katanga, Kanfwa Kimimba proceeded, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, to the inauguration of the two factories, one of which produces pipes HDPE and PVC and the other waste water recycling belonging to the company MINING ENGINEERING SERVICES-MES.
According to the Director in charge of Marketing and Business Development at the MES company, Charles Tshibanda, the pipe factory produces 50,000 tons per year and the wastewater recycling plant will reach 6,000 kiloliters per year.
“ There are two factories, one for the production of fuel oil, these are medium quality oils which are used as fuel in the furnaces to replace fuel oil and the cost is almost divided by three. Where we had to pay 1 liter of fuel oil at 1.5 dollars, we find ourselves with 0.5 dollars, and even less. In this phase, we have the capacity to produce 6,000 kiloliters per year. And for the production of the pipes, as there are various dimensions, we express this in tons. We have an annual capacity of 4,800 tons, almost 5,000 tons per year. “, he explained.
For his part, Julien Paluku noted the importance of the reindustrialization of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
“ Since the current Head of State came to power, he wanted us to be able to reindustrialise the country, there were no more industries in this country. It was necessary to stimulate both nationals and foreigners to come and exploit each sector. Today I am in the Grand Katanga area to launch the wastewater recovery plant. Instead of polluting the environment, this waste water is used at the mining level. This has an environmental gain, but also an economic one. said Minister Julien Paluku .
