GED AFRICA recruited for the construction of a 186 km road between Zambia and Haut-Katanga

The Minister of Infrastructure, Public Works and Reconstruction, Alexis Gisaro, accompanied, this Wednesday, September 28 to the office of the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, the delegation of the Company GED Africa Ltd and the financial partners involved in the construction of a road of nearly 180 km between Zambia and Upper Katanga. The Congolese government has signed a construction and paving contract with GED Africa. A project that will have a huge economic impact in the DRC.
In front of the press, the Minister of ITPR indicated that these investors came to give assurances to the Head of Government as to the realization of this project.
“You see me accompanied by a delegation of investors. Today’s meeting focused on the fact that I had come to introduce the delegation of the GED company with which we have a contract for the construction of the road between Kasomeno , Kasenga, Chalwe and Muenda of nearly 186 kilometres. This delegation is led by Mr. Szijj Laszlo who is the main investor who will carry equity, almost 30% of the investment. So, on the occasion of their presence here , their stay in Kinshasa, I had wished to present their courtesies to the authorities of the country, including his Excellency the Prime Minister. We have come to reassure his Excellency the Prime Minister on the progress of this project, the steps to be followed and society.They came to express for themselves their full commitment to this project,” said the Minister of Infrastructure and Public Works.
For his part, the CEO of the company that will carry out the work of this modern road specified that the overall cost of this project is nearly 730 million USD.
